Procurement hero: JDS Benchmarking

JDS Benchmarking provides independent comparative testing of legal, court and access-to-justice technology using realistic synthetic legal matters.

The service addresses a simple procurement problem: competing legal AI products are often demonstrated and evaluated using different examples, making meaningful comparison difficult.

JDS creates a controlled test environment in which shortlisted products receive the same unseen synthetic matters, the same tasks and the same scoring methodology. Expected outputs and evaluation criteria are established in advance, allowing relative performance to be measured across areas such as factual accuracy, issue identification, hallucination, missing-information detection, source attribution, consistency and speed.

Benchmarks can range from standard comparative exercises to bespoke test corpora reflecting a particular jurisdiction, workflow or user population. For court and access-to-justice technology, datasets can incorporate complex and vulnerable-user scenarios, incomplete information, conflicting evidence and other edge cases that may not be adequately represented in conventional product demonstrations.

The output is a comparative performance report identifying the relative strengths and weaknesses of each product.

JDS Benchmarking does not certify products or provide privacy, security or regulatory assurance. Its purpose is narrower: to provide buyers with independent, comparable evidence of how competing products perform on realistic legal work.

Same files. Same questions. Same scoring.
